Here's your chance to watch many of the Indian films that were screened at the Cannes Film festival over the yearsIf you have missed the Indian films that were screened at Cannes, here is your chance to catch up with them. The Alliance Francaise, India and the National Film Archives of India have organised the Cannes in India Film Festival, a retrospective of Indian films, which were selected by the Cannes Film Festival over the years.

The festival will be held from September 13 to 17 at the National Film Archive of India, Law College Road. Most of the films to be screened are debut films by directors and three of the films are winners of the Camera d'Or (Golden Camera) for best debut feature film. The recently released documentary film 'Bollywood-The Greatest Love Story Ever Told', by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, which was selected Out of competition at this years Cannes Festival will also be screened here.
The festival will begin with an informal inauguration today and is open to NFAI film club, Allaince Francaise members and film buffs across the city. It will showcase a blend of short films and animation films from various parts of the country in Hindi, Bengali and Malayalam.
Some of the popular films that will be screened include A Very Very Silent Film (Manish Jha), Salaam Bombay (Mira Nair), Khoj (Tridib Poddar), Piravi (Shaji N Karun), Printed Rainbow (Gitanjali Rao) and Dosar (Rituparno Ghosh).
