Aditya Kale, CEO – Airattix Storage Pvt. Ltd.
The pandemic has brought about numerous changes in the business industry and has majorly affected the customer behaviour and their shopping patterns. While businesses have understood the need to shift from traditional methods to making an online presence, multiple businesses have gotten creative and evolved their perspective keeping in mind what would work best for their customer and business. One such company is Airattix. During the looming coronavirus, Airattix continued to stay afloat and has been a boon for employees, students, and small businesses.
Airattix is a market place where people can rent in and rent out extra storage space and a vacant car park to genuine verified users for goods storage and car park rentals respectively. Airattix is a first-of-its-kind platform and acts as an aggregator platform for all the independent public storage facilities operating across the country. A technology oriented marketplace and very user-friendly portal and also provides an opportunity for the host to earn some extra income from their vacant and unused property. The main selling point of the goods storage facilities is that the company also provides movers and packers service to its customers. So the users don't have to move their goods on their own and save the extra effort.
Story behind Airattix
Space has never been at such a premium and we live in an era where people have more belongings than ever before. Through our sister company Imperial Logistics- an established warehousing and supply chain management company, we often came across inquiries from common people who wanted extra space for goods storage purpose. After sensing an opportunity, Aditya Kale, CEO - Airattix Storage Pvt. Ltd. decided to develop a marketplace in Pune in August 2019 to connect individuals to rent in and rent out extra spaces. Being a one-stop destination for all storage needs, through Airattix, people can get rid of daily parking and storage space problems. The company aims to reinvent the way we store stuff in this sharing economic generation.
Coming from the business background of warehousing and supply chain, Aditya always had the intention to introduce the concept of a Public Storage facility in India. To grow across various geographies, he decided to launch a marketplace to create visibility to the storage and parking facilities and connect the facility owners to genuine customers.
Response during the pandemic
The pandemic has extensively stimulated the demand for public storage facilities. The number of transactions on the portal of customers looking for dedicated storage and parking spaces has increased substantially. While the working population has witnessed a switch of working from the office to working from home, a number of employers, primarily techies are leaving the city and moving back to their hometowns. It is economical for these employers to give up their rented spaces to save on money while they are away, however, they require facilities to store their belongings, furniture, and so on. This has tremendously led to the rise in demand for storage spaces, where household and office belongings are stocked securely for low rentals.
Apart from work from home employees, there are also clients from various different sectors like students, small businesses owners, traders, people renovating or redeveloping their houses, or people who want to endorse minimalism. This has helped save student's house rent while they are away at their hometown due to the shift in online classes.
The way ahead
As a trustworthy storage unit, Airattix is fully operational in Pune and has already managed to grow to start its operations in all metro cities in India like Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. The company is now planning to grow its business in the overseas market in near future and the management is currently focusing on upgrading its technology to enhance the user experience
Being an asset-light storage facility, Airattix does not rent in and rent out the storage and parking facilities, but instead collaborates with the storage and parking facilities owners and helps them create visibility to the right audience.
Future collaborations
Airattix is eagerly working towards their expansion overseas. Apart from that, Airattix has tied up with multiple corporates in the public storage domain, by listing and renting their properties on the company portal by creating an online booking facility such as Storemore, Imperial Logistics, Your Space Doctor, Parkiez, Dorabajees Royale Heritage Mall, and Abhiruchi Mall to name a few and are looking forward to many more associations like these. Airattix has a number of corporate clients who have booked storage and parking facilities through the portal like Borosil Ltd, Zoom Cars, Fine Dine hospitality, and Yolkshire Hotels to name a few.
