Dear Diana,I'm a 28 year-old housemaker and stay with my husband on the seventh floor. The joint family that stays on the eighth floor of the building have lots of kids who daily create noise running here and there. They can play in the building's park but they don't seem to.
Their constant stomping kills my peace of mind. As I suffer from migraine, it aggravates my problem. I've tried informing them of this situation but they don't seem to care. I don't want to complain to the housing society and create unnecessary enmity with them. But then I'm the only one at home who suffers.u00a0
Aarti
Dear Aarti,As your neighbour has an extended family, there are too many kids at play. You say you suffer from migraine, so you have a medical reason to voice your grievance. It is understandable that you don't want to create an uncomfortable situation by complaining about the brats kids will be kids after all!
But what you can do is bring up the issue at the next society meeting. You will have to deal with it gently. At the outset, state your medical problem and then explain the need for peace at least in the afternoon. Perhaps in the mornings and evenings they can go down in the park.

Also, if the kids are a little older gently tell them that they need not create a huge noise while playing. Perhaps invite one of the older ones to your homes when the rest are stomping away to make him realise the din that they create.
