According to the poll conducted by cosmetics firm Nivea, the average male claims to have 26 mates as compared to females, who say they have a network of 12 close friends. u00a0
The survey also found that people tend to have their biggest friendship circle at the age of 21. u00a0 "The age of 21 is critical and that's why we've so many friends then," the Daily Star quoted Geoff Beattie from Manchester University as saying.
