Dear Diana,My friend borrowed money from me some months ago as he was out of cash and had to pay his rent. In fact, it's been more than a year now. I have never bothered to ask him to return it nor has he ever talked about it. We both act as if nothing has happened. Not that I need the money or anything but I sometimes wonder how come he never mentions it! Of course, I can do without the cash but it keeps lingering at the back of my mind. May be I'm acting paranoid as I know him since childhood and I sincerely hope this doesn't end up ruining our friendship. What do you say?

There are many people out there in the world who borrowu00a0 but never return. This guy may be a childhood friend but you have to gently remind him. Perhaps he knows that you don't need the money so he is not taking it seriously. You need to tell him that you need the money for a reason. You will have to cook up a reason like you are making a big purchase or you are going on a trip or a relative is in dire need of finances. Also, set a return deadline if you really want your money back.
