Few might be aware that Landlord's Game created by Elizabeth Magie, and patented on January 5, 1904, is the precursor to Monopoly. Magie patented it to illustrate the teachings of economist Henry George. The patent was later bought by the Parker brothers, and her name was lost in obscurity. Disney Monopoly: Disney released this special edition where players can choose their favourite characters to negotiate the board. The game is based on Disney lore.
