The session will help you build a connection with your child
In today's fast-paced life, while adults are busy chasing deadlines, they might lose out on spending quality time with their kids. In an attempt to address this obvious scenario in urban set-ups, Priyanka Joshi, a success and performance coach for kids, is conducting an online workshop - How well do you know your child? for parents and children. Organised by Malsar Events, an event services company, the online session aims at stimulating healthy relationships between the parents and their kids with fun games and activities.

Joshi says that a strong parent-child bond, which is crucial for children's healthy development, is what she hopes to foster through this event. "If you don't establish a good relationship with your child, the biggest drawback will be - no connection with them as they mature. The parent will observe that the child does not listen to them nor has any regard for them once they start growing up. Secondly, the child will seek the attention they lack at home outside, which may also lead them to dangerous behaviours and outcomes," she states.

Joshi makes a related point that to work towards this goal, parents who are in full-time jobs should not be villainized. Even if parents spend one hour of their day with their kids, and make them feel loved and wanted, it is enough to develop wholesome attachment with them. The session includes a quiz for parents where they are tested on how well they know their children and a fun game that helps the parents know their child better. A few short body exercises will also be taught to improve concentration and focus. "Parents are so caught up with work that they fail to create some zealous memories with their children. These activities will help them do that, and in the process, understand their child's needs better," Joshi signs off.
