Model Maya Suryavanshi returns from intn'l shoot of first film and files a case
Model-turned-actress Maya Suryavanshi, who is working on her first movie, has alleged that her director Vinod Chhabria was so possessive about her during the shoot that he hit her for going out with friends.

Suryavanshi filed a complaint against Chhabria yesterday for assaulting her and using abusive language her during the shoot of the untitled movie in Malaysia.

The actress said, "We were shooting in Malaysia from May 11 to 29. The director was possessive about me from the start.
He acted like I was his property. He had assigned two men to keep a watch on me and even sent them to my room to check on me.

"He spoke to me in a cheap manner a number of times, but I did not react."
The matter came to a head on May 29. "That day, I went shopping with my friends. When I returned, he started yelling at me.
He screamed 'Tu apne yaar ke saath bahar gayi thi' and said several other things that I can't even repeat," she alleged.
Cruel intentionsSuryavanshi added that the director also took away her passport and threatened not to let her leave Malaysia. However, she came back on May 31, after the end of the shooting schedule.

"Chhabria's intentions were not good. But it was only after I started shooting for the film that I learnt that he had a bad reputation.
Men like him spoil the name of the film industry," said Suryavanshi.
When contacted, Chhabria said, "She is a prostitute and I don't want to talk about her."
Police Inspector D Sankhe of the Oshiwara police said, "We have taken her complaint against the director and will take necessary action."

The case has been filed for causing grievous hurt, insulting and criminal intimidation.
