A 30-year-old married man allegedly died by suicide by hanging while on a WhatsApp video call with another woman on Monday in Kurar, Malad East.
According to police sources, Puraram Meghawat was found hanging in an imitation workshop situated in Tanaji Nagar, Kurar East. His colleagues at the workshop informed the police about his death.
The Kurar police reached the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem to Bhagwati hospital.
"We searched the workshop but found no clue for his suicide. When we checked his mobile phone, we found his last call on WhatsApp which was made by the deceased to a woman in Rajasthan. We called on that number and questioned the woman. It turned out she was a relative of Meghwat's wife whom he wanted to marry despite being already married with children."
