After MiD DAY reported how drug dealers were planning to use performers at hotel New Year bashes to transport drugs, cops up the ante

Two days after model Rozyln Khan lodged a complaint with the Oshiwara police about the new modus operandi adopted by the drug dealers for transporting drugs via celebrities, the West region police have directed all the party organisers to frisk celebrities invited to perform at their respective New Year's bashes.

In yesterday's report ('Item girls being used to smuggle in drugs to 31st bashes), MiD DAY had published that drug dealers have now started targeting unsuspecting celebrities to transport the contraband to their clients at five star hotels and upmarket party venues for the New Year's Eve.

"Even the celebrities should be frisked. Any reveller or a celebrity carrying banned item inside the party venues must be immediately reported to the cops deployed at the venue by the organisers," said Pratap Dighavkar, DCP, Zone IX.
