After the recent incident where two Nepali nationals fled after murdering a Juhu-based housewife and her domestic help, police in the city are keeping an extra vigil on the community, it appears.

According to sources, policemen have been asked to keep a tab on criminal elements within the community. As a result of the orders, the police arrested four Nepali nationals suspected of other crimes, on Saturday.



Those arrested are Ganesh Veerbahadur Nepali, 26, Ganesh Bahadur Sodari, 25, Umesh Truwa, 25 and Amarsingh Domai, 24, all of whom reside in Mira Road.

According to the police, Truwa and Nepali have been working as watchmen in residential colonies in Borivali for the last few years.

The two reportedly kept tabs on society members, and whenever any house was left unattended, information was passed on, and Domai and Sodari robbed those houses.

Police Sub-Inspector of Chembur police station Sanjay Wabkar said, "Once they robbed a few houses, Sodari and Domai would flee to Nepal and wait for the other two to split the stolen goods."

According to the police, a trap was laid after they learnt from informers that the group was planning another robbery.

Wabkar said, "We learnt that the accused were reaching Gidwani Road (Chembur) to loot a jewellery store. We laid a trap and recovered a country-made revolver, two choppers and a screwdriver from them."

During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to having committed 12 robberiesu00a0 in Borivili, Kasturba Marg, Mira Road and Dahisar.

Police arrest Juhu double murder suspects
The Juhu police have reportedly arrested four individuals connected with the murder of Juhu-based housewife Kavita Suchak, 43, and her domestic help Prashant Bagve, 35.

The two were murdered on Tuesday, and the prime suspects, Teksingh Badila and Ramsingh Badila, who worked as servants in their home, were believed to have fled to Nepal.

However, the police on Saturday, arrested the duo and two accomplices in Marathwada after keeping tabs on their cell phone numbers.

This led to the arrest of two individuals who had been in touch with the Badilas just before the murder. The arrested two, names undisclosed, then disclosed the location of the Badilas.

The police have found valuables and cash worth Rs 70, 000 from the Badilas, and suspect that robbery might have been the reason behind the murder. The police are,u00a0 also probing other angles.
