The city saw a significant rise in the number of fresh cases on Wednesday and the figure sped past 300. The test positivity rate also saw a marginal rise. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 347 new cases and a TPR of 0.89 per cent were registered. While on Tuesday the city reported one death, Wednesday saw three.
All the deceased had comorbidities and were above 60 years of age. The doubling rate dipped to 2,194 days on Wednesday. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 363 people were discharged after full recovery on Wednesday.
The state saw a marginal rise in new cases and the figure crossed the 1,000-mark. The Covid-19 fatalities, however, saw a significant dip. As per the state health department report, 1,094 new cases were reported along with 17 deaths across the state.

Maharashtra's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 1,976 people were discharged after full recovery on Wednesday. Currently the state has 12,410 active cases. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a marginal rise in new cases. As per the state report, 582 cases were reported in the MMR, including the ones from Mumbai.
Apart from Mumbai, Thane Municipal Corporation reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR at 54, followed by Navi Mumbai, which reported 41 cases. While Kalyan-Dombivili Corporation reported 32 cases, 21 cases were registered in Panvel. The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered one death in Raigad.
