Covid-19: Mumbai's Total Positivity Rate increases marginally to 1.39 per cent

After witnessing the second wave's lowest test positivity rate (TPR) on Friday at 1.26 per cent, Mumbai registered a marginal rise on Saturday as the TPR was recorded at 1.39 per cent.

New Covid cases, too, saw a marginal rise on Saturday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 466 new Covid-19 cases were reported across the city and 12 deaths on Saturday.

Of the 12 deaths, five patients had comorbidities. Ten deaths were in the age group of 60 above, while two deaths were reported in the 40-60 age group.

The state's new Covid-19 cases saw a slight rise as 8,172 cases were reported across the state on Saturday. The state's Covid-19 fatalities number dipped as 124 deaths were reported on Saturday.

The state's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.04 per cent. Also, 8,950 recovered and got discharged on Saturday. Currently, the state has one lakh active cases.

On Saturday, 33,760 people took their first dose of vaccine, and 26,392 took their second dose, according to the BMC report.
