Covid-19: Mumbai logs 65 cases, zero deaths for ninth day in a row

For the ninth day in a row, the financial capital of the country recorded zero pandemic-related deaths. Mumbai on Saturday reported 65 new Covid-19 cases, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said.

With this, the active cases in the city stand at 576. According to the BMC, 89 Covid patients recovered from the disease during this period taking the total number of recoveries since the onset of the pandemic in the city to 1,036,723.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 535 fresh cases, 963 recoveries, 10 deaths in the last 24 hours and 454 tested positive for Omicron. The total active cases in the state are at 4,038. A total of 963 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 77,16,674. The recovery rate in the state is 98.07 per cent. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.82 per cent.

Currently, 27,025 people are in home quarantine and 589 people are in institutional quarantine. The Mumbai circle - which consists of MCGM, Thane, TMC, Navi Mumbai, KDMC, Ulhasnagar MC, Bhivandi Nijampur MC, Mira Bhayandar MC, Palghar, Vasai Virar MC, Raigad, Panvel MC - recorded 110 new cases.
