The daily Covid-19 cases in Mumbai dropped marginally to 454, while new casualties hovered around 10, on Sunday. The test positivity rate, which was 1.26 per cent on Friday, rose to 1.40 per cent.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's latest report, of the 12 newly confirmed Covid-19 deaths, eight patients had comorbidities, six were senior citizens, six were in the 40-59 years age group.
The doubling rate of cases in the city continues to improve, and was 1,001 days on Sunday. The city's recovery rate improved by 1 per cent to 97 per cent, and 512 people were discharged after full recovery on Sunday.
For the second consecutive day, the state's new Covid-19 tally rose marginally to 9,000 cases. The number of fatalities went up, too, to 180.
The case fatality rate in the state remained constant at 2.04 per cent, and 5,756 people recovered and were discharged on Sunday. Currently, the state has around 1.03 lakh active cases.

The number of new cases in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also dropped slightly, and was 1,481 on Sunday, including the ones reported in Mumbai. Panvel with 142 and Raigad with 378 reported the maximum number of new cases in the MMR. Thane reported 69 new cases, Navi Mumbai 89 and Vasai-Virar 61 new cases.
The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered 17 Covid-19 fatalities on
Sunday. Raigad reported eight deaths, highest in the MMR after Mumbai. Navi Mumbai saw four deaths, Thane three, Panvel and Vasai-Virar one each.
