The Malad police on Wednesday arrested three accused in the lift mishap case in which a 26-year-old assistant school teacher Jenel Boniface Fernandes, from St Mary's English High School at Chincholi Bunder in Malad west, died last month.
According to police sources, after questioning the school staff, it has been revealed that there was a technical fault in the lift, due to which the accident took place.

"During the investigation, we found that the school administrator Jhonson Jhon(56), maintenance contractor Sushilkumar Chaudhary (57), and helper Rajaram Rane(59) were aware of this, yet no action was taken on time," said an official.

"All three accused were arrested and were produced before the Borivali court today. The court remanded all in judicial custody," said senior inspector Ravindra Adhane from Malad police station.
