Since the India Meteorological Department announced the onset of southwest monsoon in Mumbai, the city has been witnessing overcast skies and sporadic moderate to heavy downpours. On Thursday morning, too, the city witnessed a sporadic shower.
As per the latest Mumbai weather update, the city will be seeing a generally cloudy sky and moderate to heavy rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department also said that there was a possibility of thundershower. Maximum & minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 33 degrees C and 28 degrees C respectively, the IMD said in their Mumbai weather update for June 13.
A high tide of about 3.77 metres is expected to hit Mumbai at 5.06 pm today, stated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The civic body also said that a low tide of about 1.89 metres is expected at 9.51 pm today.

The IMD, according to the latest Mumbai weather update, has issued a yellow alert to Thane, Raigad and Palghar districts. The IMD in its forecast for the neighbouring districts to Mumbai said, "Thunderstorms with lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds (30-40kmph) in isolated spots are very likely."
The weather agency, meanwhile, advised the fishermen along and off North and South Maharashtra. In their forecast for the fisherfolk, the IMD said, "Squally weather with wind speed 35 kmph to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph likely to prevail over central parts of Arabian sea, along and off Karnataka, Kerala coasts, adjoining Lakshadweep, Comorin areas, gulf of Mannar. Squally wind with wind speed 45 kmph to 55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph likely to prevail along and off Somalia coast, Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Arabian sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during above mentioned period."
The IMD also reported the commencement of the southwest monsoon over Mumbai. Rain fell in Mumbai earlier on Sunday, signifying the beginning of the predicted weather activity. According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon has moved to sections of the central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana, south Chhattisgarh, south Odisha, and other coastal Andhra Pradesh areas.
