The 30-share Sensex initially dropped 144.34 points to 75,358.51, while the 50-share Nifty declined 49.95 points to 23,358.85. However, both indices soon recovered, with the Sensex rising 192.14 points to 75,696.83 and the Nifty gaining 64.25 points to trade at 23,473.05

The Nifty 50 index opened at 23,116.10 with a decline of 35 points or 0.15 per cent, while the BSE Sensex opened at 74,415.79, falling by 148.13 points or 0.20 per cent
