A 47-year-old woman, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) worker allegedly took her own life at her residence in Tembhi Pada area of Bhandup, the police said on Sunday.
The incident took place at around 11:30 in the morning. The police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in matter, an official said.
The deceased has been identified as Reena Solanki, aged 47.
"The victim, Reena Solanki, had been allegedly battling depression due to persistent health problems and financial challenges," the official added.

Reena allegedly leapt from the 18th floor of her relative's house in Bhandup, Mumbai, ultimately landing on the open space situated on the 6th floor of the Triveni Sangam SRA building.
An official said, "Reena's son, alerted the police about the incident and conveyed that his mother had been struggling with health complications."
Reena was affiliated with the BMC and had been allegedly taking frequent leaves owing to her health concerns.
Shantilal Solanki, a relative of Reena said, "Due to the potential danger, we had advised the builder to install a safety net on the open space of the 6th floor."
A police official added, "The family does not suspect any foul play, hence we have registered an ADR in the matter."
Sources said, Reena was a mother to three sons.
