In an act of kindness, Matru Mandir opened up their society's recreation hall for residents of Kamla Building to relax, regroup and come to terms with the tragedy. The society hall could accommodate over 120 people.

Vipul Padliya, secretary of Matru Mandir said, "It was heart-wrenching to see ladies with children and senior citizens sitting on the pavement. Some food and basic medicines were organised for those with minor injuries. An ambulance was stationed and a few doctors arrived to the society to check on the other people who had assembled there."

Kamal Shah, another resident of Matru Mandir, even accommodated the team of firefighters at his residence on the 21st floor.
