Santosh Warick has been appointed acting director of Maharashtra Fire Services (MFS). He will replace Director, MFS, Prabhat Rahangdale. The Urban Development (UD) department on March 3 instructed the state administration to hand over the additional charge of director Maharashtra Fire Services to Warick, who is currently chief fire officer and fire advisor at MIDC Fire Services.

Till August 2020, Rahangdale held the post of chief fire officer (CFO) of the Mumbai Fire Brigade. Last year he was appointed Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) Disaster Management of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Rahangdale said, "I had six years tenure as CFO (Mumbai) and five years as Director Maharashtra Fire Services. I gave my best. Now that the administration has issued an order to handover charge of director MFS to the new appointee, I will do so."
