Dr Praveen Rathi, dean of Nair hospital, told mid-day, "We are in shock. She never complained or expressed any of her concerns to her friends or teachers at the institution. It's a huge loss for us. She was a bright student."
Earlier, a third-year MBBS student, Govind Mane, of Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College and KEM hospital died by suicide at his home in Sangli. The institution had appointed counsellors for fellow students. Besides, a friendship initiative was also started wherein professors and seniors guided the students.
