The mini marathon was a collaborative effort between various entities including the Thane Municipal Corporation, Thane Collectorate, Thane District Athletic Association, and Thane Citizens Foundation.
Thane Collector Ashok Shingare and Thane Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao graced the event held on Saturday.
Titled "Run and Vote 2024," the marathon aimed to encourage maximum voter turnout for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 20.
Prior to the marathon, contestants, municipal officials, and employees took an oath to vote and exercise their rights.
The event witnessed widespread participation from municipal officers, employees, and residents.
Thane Collector Ashok Shingare commended the participants for their active involvement and urged them to spread the message of voting awareness to every household.
Winners of the mini marathon were honoured at a ceremony held at Kashinath Ghanekar Theatre.
