CM Shinde before the cleanliness drive, washed the Shivalinga (idol of Lord Shiva) and performed an aarti.
CM Shinde was accompanied by Thane Municipal Corporation chief Abhijit Bangar and other senior personnel from the civic body and city police.
The deep cleaning drive, commenced on December 30, in Thane and aims to address cleanliness concerns and enhance the overall hygiene standards in the region.
The Sarvankash Swachhta Abhiyan is scheduled to continue until February 24, covering all wards under the Thane Municipal Corporation.
CM Shinde has also directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to conduct a comprehensive Deep Cleaning Drive throughout Mumbai.
BMC, in response to the Chief Minister's directive, is set to conduct deep cleaning sessions across all 25 administrative wards of Mumbai.
The statement from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation suggests that the city is poised for a significant transformation through a series of deep cleaning sessions.
