An incident occurred in Mumbai's Chembur area where an LPG cylinder exploded in a house, leading to a fire and causing injuries to multiple individuals.

The explosion resulted in significant damage to the property and adjacent structures, stated the officials from Mumbai Fire Brigade.

The impact of the blast caused a wall of the house to collapse, and the roof of a nearby shop was also damaged.

The explosion occurred when a woman lit a gas stove for cooking in the one-storey house, said the MFB personnel.

The presence of a leaking LPG cylinder led to the ignition and subsequent explosion, triggered a blaze in the vicinity.

A total of nine individuals sustained injuries in the incident, including those inside the house and one person outside. The injuries ranged from deep burns to mild injuries, affecting individuals of different age groups and genders.

Among the injured, four individuals suffered deep burn injuries, while others received mild injuries. The severity of injuries varied, with some individuals requiring immediate medical attention due to the extent of burns and other physical injuries.

All the injured persons were promptly taken to the civic-run Shatabdi Hospital in Govandi for medical treatment. Additionally, one individual with head and leg injuries was shifted to Sion Hospital for further medical care.

Despite the severity of injuries, the condition of all the injured persons was reported to be stable, said the officials.
