Congress MP's Bharat Jodo Yatra is in its last leg and is currently headed towards Mumbai from Thane.

Earlier in the day, he interacted with the people in Kalwa & Thane; he was accompanied by the NCP leader Jitendra Awhad and Sena (UBT) leader Kedar Dighe.

His yatra will be concluding after it reaches Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai's Dadar area on Saturday and he will be addressing a rally at Shivaji Park on March 17.

While interacting with the public, Rahul Gandhi accused PM Narendra Modi of running a massive extortion racket through electoral bonds, diverting attention from ending corruption.

Gandhi alleged that during the COVID-19 pandemic, while people suffered, Modi received funds from companies producing vaccines via electoral bonds.

The Wayanad MP also denounced electoral bonds as a global extortion mechanism, claiming pressure is exerted on corporations to contribute funds.

He claimed that Amit Shah stifles dissent by intimidating those who speak out against the electoral bond scheme using government agencies like ED, CBI, and Income Tax Department.

Gandhi also criticised the exclusion of marginalised communities from the Ram Temple inauguration, he said that Tribal, Dalit, Other Backward Classes and poor representatives were absent and said even President Droupadi Murmu was not invited.

He also pointed out the discrepancy in representation, stating that despite comprising 88 per cent of the population, OBC, Dalit, Backward, and Tribal communities are underrepresented in crucial sectors like administration.
