Many had gathered in their respective colonies, or in local politician's party offices to watch the counting of the votes together.
Residents in Vanrai colony had gathered in their area and arranged a screening of the Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Pravin Cheda had also organised such a viewing at his office in Ghatkopar area of the city.
Cheda had also arranged for refreshments of the public amid the soaring temperatures the city has been witnessing.
Residents of Vanrai colony, who had gathered for a viewing of Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024, had also arranged for distribution of refreshment and water bottles to remain hydrated.
The votes cast for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are being counted across centres in Mumbai including in Goregaon and Sewri.
Maharashtra had a voter turnout of 61.33 per cent in the general elections, which were held in five phases from April 19 to May 20.
In total, 5,70,06,778 voters out of 9,29,43,890 exercised their right to vote in the five phases.
The Gadchiroli-Chimur constituency had the highest polling rate at 71.88 per cent, while Mumbai South had the lowest turnout at 50.06 per cent.
Nearly 14,507 people are counting votes in Maharashtra, which includes 289 counting rooms and 4,309 counting tables.
The Shiv Sena and NCP groups, together with the government BJP and the opposition Congress, are competing for political power in the state, with the Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).
