Jasmine Shetty (name changed), a Mumbai resident came to the city on April 13 to attend her mother's death anniversary. She alleged that her brother Tracy Francis physically abused her and asked her to leave their Aravind Nagar house.
"He didn't let me enter the house and threw my luggage out. When I resisted, he verbally abused me and threatened to rape me. Though I managed to enter, he locked all the rooms in the house and did not even let me use the washroom," she alleged.
Jasmine then approached the cops and the local church for help. Despite counselling by police and church authorities, Francis allegedly continued to torture her.
Unable to bear the mental and physical harassment, Jasmine approached the city police commissioner who directed the Banasawadi police to take necessary action. "Initially we thought it was a family feud, but when the problem continued, we registered a case against Francis," said W B Sakri, PI, Banasawadi police station.
Despite repeated attempts, Francis remained unavailable for comment.
