Ganesh, who owns a vehicle spare parts shop at Nayandhalli, had applied for a gun licence citing security reasons. Ballistic experts have identified the gun as a .32 German made pistol, which he had been using since the past two years.
Kumar, said, "On detailed questioning, Ganesh revealed that he had obtained the license to show off since his friends, who are businessmen, procured weapons to maintain a sort of prestige." He added, "Now he has fired his weapon over a minor issue, it shows that he is unfit to carry a gun."
Likewise, ACP (administration) U Nissar Ahmed admitted that this is a serious lapse on the part of Ganesh to discharge a weapon while in an inebriated condition. Ahmed said, "We are waiting for a detailed report. We will take strict action against him, based on the outcome of the investigation. It could also mean cancelling his arms licence."
