Intelligence Agencies and police commissioner contradict each other on who the five men arrested from Hubli hotel areWhile intelligence agencies claim the five men from UP who were picked up from a Hubli hotel yesterday are responsible for the Bangalore blasts, city police chief Shankar Bidari says the men are small-time suitcase-lifters.
The gang of bandits were caught by the Central Crime Branch sleuths while from Sriram Residency in Hubli yesterday.

"The arrested men are involved in several train robbery and suitcase-lifting cases in and around the state. They are not connected to the blasts," Bidri said.

Inspectors A K Girish and G Balraj of Cubbon Park police station in their complaint against the unknown perpetrators, state that while they noticed the bombs around 8 am, they only summoned the bomb disposal squad at 9.30 am and 12 pm respectively.
"Two to fours had passed by the time the bomb disposal squad visited the scene.
Had the bombs exploded in that time, the damage would have been severe," said a senior police officer.

Incidentally, the city police released a sketch of one of the suspects involved in planting explosives at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.
The sketch is based on the description of the suspect by a constable who believes to have sighted him around the stadium on May 17.
When the constable reportedly called out to the youth who was moving suspiciously around the stadium around 4 am, he reportedly fled.
