Bijapur Bulls decides on Kannadiga beauty Suman Ranganath instead and Belgaum Panthers does away with chosen brand ambassadors
Bijapur Bulls decides on Kannadiga beauty Suman Ranganath instead and Belgaum Panthers does away with chosen brand ambassadors Aindrita Ray's KPL dreams went from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh and poof! It was back to earth with a thud in a matter of days.
The Junglee star was the first choice of brand ambassador for Bijapur Bulls but eventually lost out to Kannada actress-turned-Bollywood star Suman Ranganath.
Nandeesh Reddy, owner of the Bijapur team in the Karnataka Premier League, had approached Aindrita and the deal was almost settled for Rs 2 lakh.
Till Aindrita heard that fellow artiste Pooja Gandhi was demanding Rs 10 lakh for the same role.
Reddy's budget didn't allow him to go beyond Rs 3 lakh but that was not enough for the star.
What settled the matter was some agents promising to get her Rs 10 lakh from the Belgaum team.

Me or you? It's me of course: Suman Ranganath |
Misled
"The agents misled her," said a source in Bijapur Bulls. "They told her she would lose her market value if she settled for anything less than Rs 10 lakh."
But the Belgaum Panthers dropped the very idea of a brand ambassador after hearing about Aindrita's astronomical demands.
"Our emphasis is on cricket and cricketers are the brand ambassador," said A R Nagesh, partner of Belgaum Panthers. "And Manish Pandey will be in the lead."
Disappointed, Aindrita tried to make a dash for Bijapur but it was too late the team had finalised Suman for Rs 3 lakh.
