The Indian capital is in a state of high alert with security beefed up across the city and additional personnel pressed into action after a blast outside the Delhi High Court leftu00a0several dead andu00a0many moreu00a0injured Wednesday morning.
"The city is on a high alert. We've increased our patrolling and checking across the city, especially in crowded places. Security has been beefed up in Parliament House too," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told IANS.
Metro and railway stations, and the airport were sanitised by security personnel with dog squads and intense frisking of passengers.
"Extra security men have been brought in to deal with the situation. Security has been tightened at all Metro stations, airport, government buildings and industrial units," said Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) spokesperson Rohit Katiyar.
The Railway Protection Force too has increased vigil across all stations in the capital and is closely monitoring CCTV footage.
"We have deployed additional personnel at all stations and CCTV footage is being observed thoroughly," Northern Railway chief public relations officer S.K. Sharma said.
"Frisking of passengers and scanning of luggage has been intensified too," he added.
