Luxury redefined: The premium hair studio at Lodhi Road

A new salon in the Capital is rewriting the luxury benchmark for hair treatments with a minimum price tag of Rs 9,900. And for the hair-raising bill, you get to relax in a private styling chamber, can pamper yourself with a pedicure or manicure, watch a movie or for the ultimate high, sip Champagne. However, for every value-added service, you have to pay extra.
Every facility at Hong Kong-based celebrity hairstylist Kim Robinson's hair studio at Hotel Aman, Lodhi Road, is designed to pamper your senses. For over 30 years the Australian-born Robinson has worked with a host of international celebrities including Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, Kate Moss and Linda Evangelista. And at his Indian outlet, Robinson claims to offer the best of the glamour world.
A sensual Khajuraho-styled stone sculpture bathed in soft lights welcomes guests as they step into the salon's plush reception. Dim lights and soothing music wipe out the stress lines even before the guest has been prescribed his or her special hair treatment.
"We are offering a premium hair care experience that Indians have never known. We want our Indian clients to experience world-class hairdressing in an elegant atmosphere. From du00c3u00a9cor to treatments, our salon offers the world's best," said Kim Robinson, who was in the Capital for the salon's launch.
The salon has ten private styling chambers, five secluded shampoo rooms, two hair spa rooms and one double chamber (for couples or friends) who want to enjoy the services together.
Inside the chamber, you can relax on hydraulic salon chairs designed by world spa furniture leader Takara Belmont and plush leather hair spa beds that recline up to a comfortable 180 degree. To make your experience even more luxurious, watch a movie on the personal DVD screen or order Champagne at US $22.
"Our quality is unmatched and our prices are in accordance with that," said Rod Anker, creative director of the salon. The salon claims to offer each client a specially designed treatment that suits his or her hair the best. Internationally trained stylists offer treatments like highlighting, tinting, Robinson's signature "dry cut" and a hair analysis apart from hair spa treatments. Open for both men and women, the services can be availed by appointment only.
