Asgar Fazeel (26) and Fatima (25) were arrested on Wednesday night, when they attacked Sub Inspector Rao Ganesh G, after he refused to return the keys of their car. They also misbehaved with journalists who were present on the spot to cover the incident. Fazeel and Fatima were returning from a party at M G Road around 11.45 pm when the police stopped them to check for drink driving.
After a heated exchange of words, Ganesh took the car keys saying that the car would be given the next day.
This irritated the students and they started misbehaving with Ganesh. They got down from the car and assaulted him, even bit him on his hand.
Higher officials arrived later to stop the quarrel and took the girls into police custody.
