Delhi ministers will finally get new official residences. The Delhi Cabinet on Monday approved the design for construction of new bungalows for Delhi ministers. The Cabinet meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

While briefing the media after the meeting, Dikshit said that her government has decided to construct new bungalows for her ministers keeping in view the acute shortage of official residences. Till now, only two ministers have been allotted official bungalows in Delhi.

Dikshit further stated that the allotment of bungalows in central Delhi will help ministers serve the voters better as they will waste very little time in commuting between home and office.

Four bungalows are proposed to be constructed on a plot measuring 15,931.22 sqm at 8, Raj Niwas Marg.u00a0 The other two bungalows will be built at Attaur Rehman Lane.

The double-storeyed bungalows will house an office area on the ground floor other than living rooms.
