Just Cause 2 is an open world (or sand box if you prefer) game where your aim is to overthrow the evil dictator Pandak 'Baby' Panay and confront Rico's former boss, Tom Sheldon. Just Cause 2 (JC2) will certainly not win any prizes for plot, dialogue or voice acting, but it's the action where it excels.
The opening three missions set the mood for what to expect, with Rico parachuting from a plane to catch a dead body, attaching himself to a helicopter to shoot foes off roof tops and scaling a casino.
All pretty impressive. Your progression in the game is pretty much governed by how much 'chaos' you manage to cause. The main method of delivering the said 'chaos' is by destroying government equipment, such as military bases, airports, garages, boats, planes and so on. One thing to note is that JC2 is absolutely huge.
The sense of scale is genuinely massive. The missions take advantage of this and provide you with plenty of leeway as to how you approach them. On the downside, the plot is poor and the voice acting is utter rubbish.
All in all,u00a0 JC2 is a great fun title that doesn't take itself too seriously, and if action and explosions are your thing, it's perfect.
