Since there was no one to take care of Lakshmi, her baby, Chandrakala used to carry the baby to work and would leave her on the corridor of the ward while she was on duty.
On Saturday, Chandrakala left Lakshmi in the corridor as usual, and went about her patrolling. But when she returned a few hours later, her baby was missing. She searched for her baby frantically, but in vain.
" I work for a better future for my child, but now I have lost her," Chandrakala rued, adding that her child cannot say anything except the word 'amma'.
The police who have taken up a kidnapping case said that they have alerted all the stations about the missing baby.
"It's very difficult to trace the baby, as Chandrakala does not even have a single photograph of the child," said a police officer.
