In a tragic end to what seems to be a one-sided love affair, a 26-year-old boy shot at his friend before shooting himself dead at her flat in New Rajender Nagar on Sunday.

In a tragic end to what seems to be a one-sided love affair, a 26-year-old boy shot at his friend before shooting himself dead at her flat in New Rajender Nagar on Sunday.


According to the police, Sanjay Aggarwal, 26, who was unemployed, had come to meet his friend Uma Sharma at her flat on Sunday morning. But Uma was not there as she had gone to appear in an exam being conducted by MTNL.

"He used to visit her flat often. This morning he had come with a bouquet," Sukhbir Singh, the landlord said.

When she returned, both of them had an argument.

"She survived despite taking two bullets and is recuperating at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital," a police official said. Aggarwal died on the spot.

A case has been registered at the Rajender Nagar police station.

Sanjay, who hails from Aligarh and Uma who is from Mathura were close friends since their days in GLA Institute of Engineering and Management, Mathura.

"Both pursued the Bachelor in Electronics course from the institute before coming to Delhi," said Jaspal Singh, deputy commissioner of police (Central).
