Limca book record holder Ashok Naidu takes on life in the fast lane on his Enfield
Ashok Naidu, a Tata Motors employee, recently made a trip to the north east and back on his Royal Enfield Electra 4-speed.
Naidu's love for bikes began after he started riding his grandfather's Jawa Motor Cycle Cz-1952 250cc every morning. However, he only came of age in 1980 and that's when he began participating in rallies and has since bagged many trophies.
"I have travelled from metros to mountains like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Manali and even to places like the Rothang Pass-Keylong-Pang-Debring-Darcha-Sarchu and the highest motorable road in the world u2014 Leh-Ladakh at Khardung La Pass at 18,380 ft!"
On his recent expedition in the high altitudes of northeastern India u2014 including Bhutan u2014 this avid biker said, "I went with my three other friends u2014 Eashwar from Bangalore, Vikram Singh from Hyderabad and Rishab from Guwahati." Naidu features in the Limca Book of Records as the first rider in the world to have ridden on the highest motorable road in the world on a 250cc Cz_Jawa motor cycle.
Young at heartSays Eashwar, who organised the northeast expedition, "At his age, I don't think anything can stop him from biking."
Added Vikram Singh who has known him through the Himalayan Odyssey, a Royal Enfield biking event, "I have not met a person so young at heart; adventurous and full of energy."
