Hot, fat and crowded
Among the audience at the Friedman-Nilekani jugalbandi were many distinguished guests, and many who thought they were distinguished. Book launches are like that, sweetie. Narayana Murthy and wife Sudha came and sneaked out well before moderator Barkha could call out to them to comment on Nandan's tome. Despite Barkha's prompting, Rohini Nilekani refused to tell whether she and hubby Nandan shared any fulminations (some would use the term 'intellectual debates') that eventually provided ideas for his book. She said those grand things about how India was poised to shine, and all that. Anyway, a nice evening at the Taj with two authors, good food and wine, men who had dressed up in suits, and, lest we forget, books.u00a0
