Sensory feast for connoisseurs: Folk artistes from various parts of the state perform at the inauguration of Bangalore Habba 2009 |
The controversy-ridden Bangalore Habba finally took off yesterday and will go on till February 23 with over 50 performances in different parts of the city.
The Habba, promoted by Artists Foundation for Arts (AFFA), has been celebrating the stage for five years, be it in the pure form of classical performances or the more modern and popular version of the art.
This time, the Habba will have more than 50 performances in venues across the city including Palace Grounds, Cubbon Park, Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Seva Sadan and even BBMP Parks. All events are free and open to public.
This year, AFFA has teamed up with Bangalore Photography Club (BPC) to present an exhibition of photographs depicting Bangalore's markets. The exhibition 'Bengaluru Mandi Hidden Hues of Bangalore Markets' is being held at Goethe-Institute/Max Mueller Bhavan from 9 am to 6.30 pm.
A coffee table book on Bangalore Mandis will also be launched on Monday.
