Officials watch as Air Deccan founder uses phone inside polling booth
For polling officials at St Joseph's Indian School, the elections were not a smooth ride. G R Gopinath, father of low-cost airlines, flouted rules at the polling booth, sending polling officials into frenzy.
While casting his vote, he was on the mobile inside the polling station despite the fact that Election Commission guidelines prohibit it.

"Except for polling officials, no one is allowed to use a mobile phone inside the polling station", said Channakeshava DK, a polling official.

Gopinath, who contested in the parliamentary polls, was among the few celebrities to cast his vote in Shanthalanagar ward.
When Gopinath arrived at the polling booth, he flouted the rules by using his mobile phone to find his serial number in the electoral list. This action sent the officials in to a tizzy.
The polling officer did not comment on the issue. "I don't want to comment", said Gunasheela G. "Voters are not allowed to use mobile phones inside polling station. That is all I can tell." GR Gopinath was unavailable for comment.
