M Lokesh, KRV's general secretary for Pulakeshi Nagar area, informed the police that one Chand Pasha was filling bore well water in mineral water bottles and passing it off as branded ones.
After investigation, the police found out that they were running their bottled water business legally and possessed the required licence.
"They are running the business for quite sometime and have a valid license. We have not found anything illegal," said PI Pradeep of DJ Halli police station.
Further investigation revealed that the KRV members had allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from Chand Pasha as protection money , which he refused to cough up. Following this, they foisted a false complaint against him.
"Initially we had taken up a case against Chand Pasha. But now, we are filing a B report (on false case) before the court," Pradeep said.
When asked if the police will take action against the person for filing a false report, he said that if the complainant files a counter complaint, we'll take necessary action.
Meanwhile, Lokesh said, "As responsible citizens, we reported the matter to the police. Now it's up to the police to decide upon the further course of action."
