Four people were injured in three road accidents that happened in the city within a span of two hours last night. In one of the accidents, Sridhar Cumbhala, a resident of Magarpatta, was hit by a speeding biker under the Shivaji Nagar flyover bridge. Cumbhala was rushed to Sancheti Hospital where doctors told him that he has a fracture in his leg. Later, his relatives shifted him to Noble Hospital in Hadapsar.

In another accident, a man who was seriously injured in an accident came to University Road's Hardikar hospital for treatment. He, however, was referred to Ruby Hall hospital, as he required surgery. "As the doctors were not available for surgery at that moment, we asked the patient to go to Ruby Hall hospital," said a doctor at the casualty department of Hardikar hospital. Though doctors at Ruby Hall hospital confirmed that they were informed about the case, they said the patient didn't turn up.


In the third incident, two bikers got injured in a mishap between a Tata Indigo car and a bike just opposite to Shivaji Nagar police chowky. While biker one suffered minor injuries, the other suffered au00a0 fracture in his leg.

Speaking to MiD DAY, Pratish Shah, the driver of the car, said, "Despite the police chowky being right opposite the accident spot, no policeman came to help. People who had gathered here after the accident helped me in get in tou00a0 the vehicle take the injured to the hospital." He, however, added that in the commotion, somebody stole his cellphone, car stereo and some accessories.

When this reporter reached the accident spot, she didn't find any policemen around. Also, we found that the police chowky was closed.
