Young amateur filmmaker makes motivational film with eminent people; launches it online. Film becomes hugely popular

He is just second to Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor in Twitter's popularity list from Delhi.

Though 23-year-old Anubhav Srivastava from Delhi isn't as successful as the dynamic minister, the youngster has created a wave in the cyber world with his unique documentary film on people who have made it big in life.

The student of Finance from Western International University has managed to rope in eminent people from diverse fields like Biocon head Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit,u00a0 journalist Vinod Dua, artist Jatin Das, corporate honcho Som Mittal, motivational speaker Shiv Khera and beauty queen Ekta Chowdhary to be a part of his film, Carve Your Destiny. His feat becomes even more astounding because he has achieved all this without a sponsor or any experience in filmmaking.

"I have not studied movie-making. I was inspired to make the film in 2007 at an international university competition. My idea was rejected for not being feasible. But I decided to start making the movie. No one believed I would be able to do it," said Anubhav.

The making

Even after he had decided to make the film, it wasn't a cakewalk. "Before getting the first celebrity appointment, I faced more than 60 rejections. In one-and-a-half year I have been rejected more than hundred times. Kiran Bedi was first to give me an interview and appreciate my idea. Till now I have interviewed 10 eminent people including Sushil Kumar, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Sheila Dikshit, Deepak Puri, Vinod Dua, Jatin Das, Som Mittal, Shiv Khera and Ekta Chowdhary," said Anubhav, who says he was inspired by the well-known self-help documentary film, The Secret.u00a0

Online hit

Anubhav decided to release his movie online and cash in on the Internet's marketing network. And his idea worked.

Within a short time, Anubhav got more than 1,000 fans following him and his work on social networking site Facebook and 10,500 followers on Twitter. Even his website, www.carveyourdestiny.com is becoming very popular.

"The response on social networking sites is very encouraging. Most people interested in my documentary are from abroad. The film's craze is such that I am on the second position after Shashi Tharoor on Twitter's Delhi popularity list," he added.

Anubhav will take another year to complete the film's post-production work. He has got admission in the University of Leicester, in the UK, from where he has decided to aggressively market his product online. And to make the film global, he plans to interview influential international personalities as well.
