Farmer had come to visit Prisons Minister Umesh Katti; was unaware that his revolver's licence had expired
Tension gripped security personnel at Vidhan Soudha yesterday at around 2.15 pm, when Babu Hallappa Aladi, a 40-year-old farmer who had come to meet Prisons Minister Umesh Katti was caught with a .32 revolver on his person.
Aladi was sent to jail for breaching the security at the high security zone. Interestingly, the gun license had reportedly expired.

Aladi, who hails from Raibad taluk of Itnal from North Karnataka had come to the city with his friends for Bangalore sightseeing. Vidhan Soudha was just one of the places on their 'to-do' list.
u00a0Hallappa, who was apparently unaware that his licence was expired, was caught while the security personnel were frisking him. The revolver was found in a bag that Aladi was carrying.
Aladi was arrested by the Vidhan Soudha Security and produced in court.
" He was later released on bail," said inspector Ashok from the Vidhan Soudha police station. Aladi he has now gone back to Raibad to get the licence to produce before the police.
