Contrary to earlier reports that the Bangalore events will be only for a close set of 100 family members, last night's sangeet ceremony of Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva turned out to be a massive star-studded event.

9.00 pm: Celebs trickle in. We spot actors Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar who is also walking the ramp for a social cause in Bangalore today.

9.15 pm: Sivamani takes the stage and enthrals the crowds. 10.00 pm: DJ Jasmeet takes on the console playing tracks from Vivek's hit movies, besides other Bollywood hit songs picturised on Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan.

10.30 pm: The couple who will get married today arrive to the beats of dhols, looking resplendent in their wedding attire. Vivek was wearing a bottle-green Indian sherwani and Priyanka looked pretty in a pink lehenga.

10.40 pm: Vivek and Priyanka shake a leg to the peppy track Ghumoon deewana ban ke tere liye from his movie Prince.

11.30 pm: Priyanka Alva performed on a track from Devdas picturised on Madhuri Dixit.

11.40 pm: Priyanka's cousin Laxmi makes Vivek shimmy to Beedi jalaile jigar se piya track, again from Vivek's hit film Omkaara.

1.15 am: Track Tonight's gonna be a good good night blares on the speakers and the family and guests already seem to have made a real good night of the shindig.

1.30 am: The couple finally relax with well wishers around.

The function got over by 4 am. While leaving, Sivamani said, "Oberoi family is a good friend of mine. Vivek and I both went to the Himalayas together. So, I have been here to entertain him. I personally wish him that he should get a healthy future."

At the mehendi and sangeet venueu00a0-- Nandini Alva's farmhouse in Hebbal. Vivek's father Suresh Oberoi and drummer Sivamani leave Hotel Chancery Pavilion for the venue.

u00a0Priyanka's brother Aditya Alva also spoke to MiD DAY after the function. He said, "The marriage will be held in both Karnataka and Punjabi style. With the help of God's blessings, all is going well. We had the mehendi and sangeet function today and the haldi function will take place tomorrow morning."

Vivek was initially supposed to go Chancery Pavilion after the mehendi function but early morning he decided to stay back at the farmhouse.

Today, Vivek and Priyanka tie the knot at Alva's residence in Hebbal. Priyanka will be wearing two traditional outfits by two fashion biggiesu00a0-- a bright Tarun Tahiliani lehenga for the sehra and jaymala, which she would change into a white and gold creation by Rohit Bal for the pheras later. Her mother has planned a Sarita Nirmal Mandoth bright saree for the wedding night.u00a0
