The way we were: Vaishali and Santosh Patada got married in 2006 |
He allegedly managed her account on Supershaadi.com, a matrimonial portal, for nearly three years and even invited prospective grooms.
The profile was created before Vaishali married Santosh Patada. Vaishali, who married the Pune-based businessman in 2006, said she came to know of her husband's deeds only after she started receiving calls from prospective grooms, a couple of months back, at their house in Pune. Ironically, the couple had met through the same website.
It is believed that marriages are made in heaven, but some seem to drop right out of hell.
In a bizarre incident, a man has been accused of hacking into his wife's matrimonial profile and managing it for nearly three years, inviting prospective grooms.
Santosh Patada, a Pune-based businessman with commercial interests in the Gulf, married Vaishali in 2006.
Vaishali alleged that her husband hacked her profile on supershaadi.com, a matrimonial website, that had incidentally brought them together.
She said she came to know of Santosh's deeds only after she started receiving calls from prospective grooms, a couple of months back, at their Magarpatta city house in Pune.
A scared Vaishali rushed to her father's home in Vashi. She then lodged a complaint against Santosh and accused him of torturing her physically and mentally.

Interestingly, though their marriage is in troubled waters, the couple hasn't filed for divorce as yet.

Tortured at home"He was not a good husband. I was living like a hostage in his house. I had to go hungry for several days because of which I had to abort my two-month-old foetus.

He is someone who can do anything, and can cross any limit for money. He is trying to malign the reputation of my family and me," a sobbing Vaishali told MiD DAY over the phone.
Vaishali's father Satish Khare is livid and wants Santosh punished. "I am fed up of this man. He has ruined my daughter's life," he said.
Counter allegationsHowever, when MiD DAY contacted Santosh, he had a different version altogether. He said his in-laws were responsible for this mess and they were 'using' Vaishali against him.
Speaking from Pune, he accused Vaishali's sister and brother-in-law of instigating her against him. Vaishali's sister Shefali is married to a Delhi-based astrologer Vaibhav Bhatnagar.

In a complaint filed against Vaibhav and Shefali at the Ashok Vihar police station in Delhi, Patada alleged that Vaishali's brother and sister-in-law were in fact managing Vaishali's account on the matrimonial website.
"Vaibhav continued to manage my wife's profile on the matrimonial website and also kept inciting her against me," alleged Santosh.

He added, "When I was in Saudi Arabia, I received a call from my wife regarding her profile on the portal.
She said she was getting calls from prospective grooms. Since I was abroad, I reported the matter to the Indian Embassy, which in turn, forwarded my complaint to the Indian government."

Refuting the allegations against him, Vaibhav said,"I don't want to comment on the matter. He is a sick man and even the police are fed up of him."
Santosh also alleged that Vaibhav and Shefali duped Vaishali of Rs 6 lakh that he had sent from Saudi Arabia to invest in real estate in Pune.
Santosh lodged his complaint on the basis of an affidavit by his wife in which, she accused her father, sister and brother-in-law of fraud.
Under pressureVaishali, however, said she had signed the affidavit because Santosh was tormenting her. "It is a false affidavit.
I signed it because of tremendous pressure from Santosh. I will report the matter to the police," explained Vaishali.
