The plan to tackle the sexual harassment menace was chalked out at the Circuit House in a meeting where all senior police officials, including commissioner of police Gulabrao Pol and joint Commissioner of Police Sanjeevkumar Singhal, were present. Senior officials from MSRTC, PMPML, PMC and auto rickshaw organisations, also attended the meeting.
A senior police official, who was present at the meeting, said, "Patil has directed to induct at least two female members on the police station level vigilance committee. He also asked to make sure that adequate security is provided to women passengers in buses, and directed officials from MSRTC, PMPML and auto rickshaw organisations to implement strict rules to curb the nuisance of sexual harassment.
R R Patil, on the sideline of the meeting, while addressing the media, told reporters that investigations in the low intensity serial bomb blasts at J M Road in August, is in its last phase, and expects the case to be cracked soon, as investigators have received a major break through.u00a0
