A visit to Moxaa is like a trip out of town. A short drive along the leafy road to Aarey Milk Colony, you will find two outlets one at film school Whistling Woods in Film City and another at Royal Palms. Take the right to Woods; the other one is much smaller and under renovation. The chain launched by Doctors Hospitalities (DH) promises to be "your New York connection". The menu is promising with quirky items like Pizza Skin, paninis called Mighty Joe and Hot Muffaleta (a New Orleans sandwich), "Bocadillo from the Island of Ibiza", cold sandwiches, pastas and munchies.

Moxaa at Goregaon is a great place if you want to sip on coffee and munch on snack. pics/Rane Ashish |
Our Cuban Sandwich from London and Mumbai (Rs 115) came with a filling of roasted chicken breast, cheese, sweet pickle, lettuce, ripe tomatoes and a mysterious "mojo sauce". Irrespective, the sandwich and the cheesy sauce made a fitting pair. We couldn't say the same about the bland and cold Chicken Afghani Rice (Rs 90) under the "healthy Indian" section conceptualised by Mita Khan. Opt for the Special Parathas instead. Col Sood from DH, informs us Mediterranean and Italian foods are the next step.
The off-centre location makes it a great place for breakfast (served all day). Pick from four types of omelettes, or make eggs your own way, griddle cakes, French toast (with an option of melted chocolate), granola cups and hot oatmeal. California Omelet (Rs 140) had a great combination of tomato, onion, bell peppers, mushrooms and cheese.

If you are dropping in for coffee, try the delicious White Chocolate Moxaa (Rs 95). The espresso with white chocolate and steamed milk wins hands down over a cappuccino. Drinks here all non-alcoholic come blended, frozen, ice cubed, creamy and fruity; the smoothies are a fusion of green tea, juice, fruits and Vitamin C drinks.
